Thankful

Since it is Thanksgiving I thought I'd take a moment and thing about all that I am thankful for. I didn't come up with this idea on my own - I copied it from Huli.

  • A God that loves me no matter what
  • My family - crazy and spread out at times - but I love them!
  • An adorable neice and two nephews :)
  • Friends that encourage, inspire, motivate, pray, listen, provide words of wisdom, and most of all love. Friends that have helped me through difficult times and times of great happiness! Friends who are not afraid to tell me like it is and expect me to do the same for them.
  • A place to live, food to eat, and a job.
  • My health
  • Time and money to travel to new places
  • A wonderful church in RH - even if I'm not currently living in that city ;)
  • And a few things that may seem trivial, but I am thankful for them: the radio in my car (which I like to sing very loudly to), old black & white movies, cold weather, my favorite jeans, and chocolate...because we all need it sometimes!

What are you thankful for?

MDA

MDA - Muscular Dystrophy Association

On December 10th I have been chosen to be "locked up" for MDA. Someone is going to come to my workplace and "arrest" myself and a few others. We are being taken to O'Charley's where we will be held until we make our bail! Right now my bail is set for $2,400.

So, why am I telling you about this? I'm telling you because I need your help to make bail. Your generous donations to MDA will be my bail money :) When I received the invite to do this, I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting myself into, but now that I've researched what MDA does I am glad to help!

"The MDA is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to conquering more than 40 diseases that affect a million Americans of all ages. " - www.mda.org

God speaks

God speaks to us in so many ways. Lately God has been speaking to me through music. One song in particular has stuck out to me over the past few weeks. I've been struggling through a time of loneliness lately. Some days I have felt as though everything has been stripped away...and then there is me...all alone. It has been these times that I have cried out to the Lord and taken comfort in His arms. When I heard this song I felt like it was written just for me. We all feel loneliness sometimes - whether we are single, married, divorced, whatever - we all feel it. It is so reassuring to know that God is so BIG! He knows our hurts and our pains. We never need to feel lonely because we know that He is there to comfort us. He is there when it seems like everything has been stripped away.

Side note - I bet Ashleigh is smiling right now at my song choice :)

Third Day - Call My Name

It's been so long since
You felt like you were loved
So what went wrong
But do you know
There's a place where you belong
Here in My Arms

Chorus:
When you feel like you're alone in your sadness
It seems like no one else in this whole world cares
And you want to get away from the madness
You just call My name and I'll be there
You just call My name and I'll be there

The pain inside
Has erased your hope for love
Soon you will find
That I'll give you all
That your heart could ever want
And so much more

Chorus:
When you feel like you're alone in your sadness
It seems like no one else in this whole world cares
And you want to get away from the madness
You just call My name and I'll be there
You just call My name and I'll be there

You just call My name
You just call My name
Call My name say it now
I want you to never doubt
The love I have for you is so alive
Call My name say it now
I want you to never doubt
The love I have for you is so alive

You just call My name
You just call My name
You just call My name

The love I have for you is so alive
The love I have for you is so alive
You just call My name
You just call My name
You just call My name

Yep...thats me!

So I'm on the move - literally. I've moved to Columbia, moved jobs, and am constantly on the move visiting friends and family. Not quite sure what this blog will hold, but I needed a place to put my thoughts...so here it is! I promise that I will update this one more frequently than I did the old blog :)
