The List

Update
#14 - Learn to dance - just some basic steps.

I'm not really a fan of New Years Resolutions. I have no desire to sit down on January 1st and create a list of things I want to do that year and then never get around to them. I do however have a life list. I'm talking about "The List" - you know, a list of things that you want to do, or places you want to go, or whatever. I've written it down before but most of the time this list stays inside my head. I add to it often and sometimes make revisions, but for the most part the list is constant. I don't have a time limit to the items on the list...well technically I guess I would like to do them before I die, but since I don't know when that will be...there is no time limit :) They are not in any particular order either, I simply add to the list as I think of them. So instead of making New Years Resolutions, my goal for 2009 is to have the opportunity to mark off some of the things on my life list.

Margaret's List:

1. Go to Italy (Must see - Pompeii)

2. Go skydiving

3. Own a convertible

4. Visit all 50 states in the US

5. See the Grand Canyon (not just from an airplane)

6. Go to Australia

7. Read the entire Bible in a year

8. Ride along with the Storm Chasers...Yes, I want to chase a tornado!

9. Go on an African safari

10. Be a wife and mother

11. Run a 5K - and actually run the whole thing, no walking!

12. Ride in a hot air balloon

13. Visit the places where my mom and dad's parents are from

This where the list stands for now...I'm sure more items will be added!

Random...

I couldn't come up with a creative title for this post because it is what it says...Random.

First of all I just want to say that I LOVE the Christmas season! It puts a smile on my face to sit at my desk listening to Christmas songs while I work away. It also makes me happy to know that next week I will get to spend a week and a half with my family. My moms birthday is the 23rd and her, my sister, and I usually spend that day doing one of our favorite things - baking! We have a crazy Christmas schedule, but we do it every year because it works. Since my mom lives with my sister and her family we get to all do Christmas eve and day together. We also spend part of Christmas day with my brother-in-laws family. Then the day after Christmas my mom goes to stay with a friend while my dad and stepmom come from Texas to visit. This is really the only time I see my dad and stepmom each year, so I am thankful for the 5 days of visiting. I am sad that my brother won't be making the trip from Colorado this year. His painting business is very busy right now and he cannot leave his crew for that long.

My blog name seems appropriate this time of year...Margaret on the Move. I will leave this Saturday from Columbia and will not return until Sunday, January 4th! I am so thankful that I have this time off (since I'm a teacher) to be able to see family and friends.

Speaking of friends...this Saturday we are doing the annual 6 pack Christmas gathering. I don't know what I would do without these girls! They came into my life in college and I am so blessed to call them my friends and sisters in Christ! We have been through a lot together over the years, and although we don't get to see each as often as we'd like, we can still come together and laugh the night away! These girls have encouraged me, prayed for me, supported me, moved me (literally), picked me up from the airport, cared for me when I was sick, and have been there through every major life change. I love you girls!

And well, because a post is not complete without a picture of the cutest baby girl...here's a new one...or two :) Brian (my brother-in-law) claims that this is why the Falcons won last week.

The Most ADORABLE Neice!

Okay, so perhaps I'm biased....but I do think that Maggie is the cutest baby girl around! I got to spend Thanksgiving with the family in Atlanta, so I had LOTS of baby holding time. I'm a horrible aunt and don't have any pictures of my nephews from this trip, but I promise to have some at Christmas. Below are some pictures from the Kim & Margaret baby photo shoot. Yes we set up a "studio" on my sisters bed to take pictures of Maggie. We even looked online for some cute poses...we are crazy.

I love this face she is making. She makes the sweetest little cooing sound and it almost sounds like she says "Hey" in a very southern girl accent.

Passed out on Thanksgiving day.

No, we were not trying to be like Anne Geddes, she fell asleep during the photo shoot :)
